„Your Soul Will Connect to It“ – Director on Shen Yun in San Jose
Actor Mr. Manha, saw Shen Yun Performing Arts at San Jose’s Center for the Performing Arts over the weekend. He enjoyed watching the spiritual aspects of the show.
[Mr. Manha, Actor]:
“I can imagine, through every performance, them gaining more wisdom and more faith in what they have faith in. So I can’t wait to come next year and see what they’ve done and what level of spirituality they are at that point.”
[Ms. Sills, Actress]:
“I loved the costumes, and the backdrops were particularly impressive. I couldn’t figure out how they did that.”
Director Mr. Wang, wrote and directed films in China for more than 20 years. He’s come to see Shen Yun perform for the last four years.
[Mr. Wang, Director]:
“This show is made with heart, so after you watch it, you will gain this appreciation of the art–your soul will connect to it, and your moral standard will improve. So every year my wife and I will come to watch it.”
Ms. Zhang arrived in the U.S. four months ago. Her husband, who’s a psychology professor, took her to Shen Yun to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.
[Ms. Zhang, Audience Member]:
“I feel very shocked to see such a great performance overseas. I’m very happy, I’m very excited. I’m very thankful to him (my husband).”
Ms. Cheng is also a new immigrant from China. She took her family to see Shen Yun.
[Ms. Cheng, Audience Member]:
“Very lively. They showed the liveliness of the Tibetans. I really like this.”
It was Ms. Lovett’s second time seeing Shen Yun perform.
[Ms. Lovett, Writer]:
“It almost felt cleansing too. Especially last year…I really feel like it just moved negativity out last year. And this year it just felt good.”
Shen Yun is currently touring Canada and the U.S. There are shows coming up this weekend in the cities of Montreal, Atlanta and Raleigh.
