British Prime Minister and Family Celebrate New Baby
British Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife, Samantha, welcome their fourth child. The baby girl was born on Tuesday while the Cameron’s were on holiday in the southwest of England.
The proud father was surprised as the baby had not been expected until September.
[David Cameron, British Prime Minister]:
„We’re absolutely thrilled. She is, you know, an unbelievably beautiful girl and I’m a very proud dad and both baby and mum seem to be doing really well so, really exciting and I’ve told the other two children who are thrilled, bouncing up and down and dying to say hello to the new baby.“
The couple hasn’t come up with the baby’s name.
[David Cameron, British Prime Minister]:
„No, not yet. I think we’ll have to have – not that I’ll have any say in it of course anyway – but I think we’ll have to have something Cornish in the middle because, it’s very exciting, we’re here on holiday and thought we were going to get through the holiday, then have the baby and it all just sort of kicked off a bit quickly.“
Cameron took office as prime minister in May with his wife already visibly pregnant.
The baby’s arrival comes some 18 months after the death of the couple’s eldest son, Ivan, who died in February last year at the age of six. He had suffered from cerebral palsy and severe epilepsy.
