„You Forget Your Worries“ – Jacksonville Audience Members on Shen Yun
A company president and his wife were excited about Shen Yun Performing Arts, after seeing the show in Jacksonville, Florida.
[Sam Phillips, Company President]:
“The show was spectacular, what was exciting about the show, was the beauty, the color the culture. The women are feminine, the men were macho.”
Mr. Phillips was shocked by the performances about modern China.
[Sam Phillips, Company President]:
“The persecution, the religious persecution, I found shocking. I knew that there was some religious persecution against Christians, but I had no idea that China was persecuting their own people for their own beliefs.”
Mrs. Phillips says the show makes you forget your worries.
[Diane Phillips, Real Estate Broker]:
“Well like I said, it makes you forget everything that is going on outside. You forget your worries, you forget your financial problems. You just enjoy the moment and relax.”
Theater actress Sarah Painter says the Shen Yun dancers’ movements are pristine.
[Sarah Painter, Theater Actress]:
“Beautiful. Elegant, smooth. I mean every move they made was pristine and really, really on point. I was definitely impressed. You always wonder how many hours of rehearsing they have to do and all the work and elements.” CUT rest of quote – weird edit
Shen Yun gave her a taste of traditional Chinese culture.

“Each individual performance was something unique, in and of itself. Each time the curtain came up it was something new and exciting.”
Another audience member commented on the problems in today’s China.
[Damien D’Anna, Media Company Vice President]:
“I didn’t realize how much persecution is going on in China for the Buddhist religion or religions in general, so it was definitely something new for us to learn.”
He says Shen Yun can show people the beauty in life.
[Damien D’Anna, Media Company Vice President]:
“I think the arts in general and the show in particular definitely shows people about the beauty and the richness in life that has nothing to do with money or your status in life that you can still enjoy, you can always enjoy the arts.”
